Metal dodecahedron.
An artwork begins with an idea. But the end result is usually completely different than the original idea. This is the beauty of creation. It is so fascinating to be open to experimentation, not knowing what will come out each time we artists start a new work. Being in touch with the playfulness and curiosity of our inner child is the most efficient approach to overcome the resistance to dealing with unfamiliar practices. The feeling of the unknown is daunting and gratifying at the same time. This photograph was taken in 2016 while experimenting with ideas about my degree show at the Athens School of Fine Arts. I was then doing tests on a dodecahedron, which eventually became a tetrahedron of monumental dimensions. You never know what will come out. Thank goodness for that!
